Locusts or Locusta migratoria
0,90 €
Large migratory grasshoppers are a high-energy and nutrient-rich live food for larger insectivorous reptiles, amphibians and other exotic animals. Their lively movement stimulates the animal's natural hunting instinct and makes feeding more exciting.
Why choose locusts?
A good choice as part of a varied menu
Possible to gut-load with high-quality food before feeding
If necessary, grasshoppers can be coated with calcium or vitamin powder before offering to the animal.
Storage
Keep the grasshoppers in a warm, dry, and well-ventilated container. A suitable temperature is around 25–30°C.
Offer them high-quality insect food, grasses, bran and small amounts of fresh vegetables or leafy greens. Fresh vegetables or water crystals are suitable for providing moisture. An open water bowl is not recommended.
Avoid direct sunlight, overheating and excessive humidity. Remove uneaten fresh food regularly.
Please note: This is live bait. There may be natural variation in the size and color of the grasshoppers.
