Adult larvae grow significantly larger than regular mealworms, and their active movement stimulates the animal's natural hunting instinct.
They are nutritious, but quite high in fat and naturally low in calcium to phosphorus, so they are better suited as part of a varied diet than as the sole staple. Gut-loading, or feeding them with a high-quality food before feeding, can improve their nutritional value.
Zophobases are not a good staple food, but are more suitable as a treat/snack. To ensure a varied diet, we recommend using Zophobases together with other bait insects!
Suitable for example:
bearded dragons
for different geckos
for monitor lizards
for chameleons
for larger frogs
to other insectivorous animals
Storage:
Store in a well-ventilated container at room temperature. Suitable substrate and dry food are wheat bran or oatmeal. A small amount of carrots or other fresh vegetables can be added regularly to provide moisture.
