Why use springtails?
- helps keep the terrarium cleaner
- eat mold and decaying organic material
- support the natural circulation of bioactive substrate
- reproduce themselves under suitable conditions
- can be a supplementary food for very small terrarium animals
Suitable for example:
- gecko terrariums
- terrariums for frogs and other amphibians
- for terrariums for spiders and other invertebrates
- tropical bioactive terrariums
- communities of isopods and other moisture-loving species
Holding:
They prefer a moist environment and an organic-rich substrate. A colony can be added directly to a terrarium, where they will settle in leaf litter, moss, decaying wood, and substrate.
Little cleaners for the bioactive terrarium!
Onychiuridae sp. “Snowflake” stands out well on a dark substrate due to its bright white color.
